This article presents and discusses the contribution that key ideas in the Positive Youth Development (PYD) literature can make to teachers’ reflective practice in working toward greater inclusive teaching and learning. Drawing on research in areas such as youth purpose, moral development, civic engagement, and perspective taking, the article describes simple steps that educators can take in the classroom to promote the psychological roots of inclusive practice by addressing inclusive thinking, feeling, and behavior in the students they teach.
