Tirri, Kirsi

Kirsi Tirri (ktirri@mappi.helsinki.fi), Ph.D., M.Th., was a visiting scholar with the Center on Adolescence 2007-2016. She is a full Professor of Education at the Department of Teacher Education, University of Helsinki, Finland. She is the President of European Council for High Ability (ECHA) and International Studies SIG at the American Educational Research Association (AERA). Her research interests include school pedagogy, moral and religious education, gifted education, teacher education and cross-cultural studies. She serves on the editorial boards of many educational journals. Her work on spirituality, pedagogical well-being and values link her closely to the work the Center is doing on adolescents, values and morality."

Helsinki was selected as the 2012 World Design Capital and with the help of these videos teacher education was presented as a new form of educational design.

As of September, 2016, Professor Tirri is affiliated with St. John's University in New York City as a visiting scholar.
