Quinn, Brandy

Brandy Quinn (b.quinn@tcu.edu) is a [former] candidate for the Ph.D. in Education (Developmental and Psychological Sciences) at Stanford University. Her research primarily focuses on the influence of schools on several related outcomes in adolescents, including: the development of purpose, commitments to serving others in the spirit of service and justice, and adolescent spirituality. Additionally, she is interested in how schools may influence these outcomes differently for adolescents living in varying levels of economic poverty, affluence and neighborhood risk. Finally, she intends to investigate how the above purpose and service outcomes might influence academic attitudes and achievements.

Prior to coming to Stanford, Brandy taught Religious Studies and coordinated the student retreat program at La Salle High School in Pasadena, California. Her background also includes time as an elementary special education teacher and several summers coordinating high school leadership programs at summer camps. Brandy’s educational background includes a B.A. in English from Whittier College, an M.A. in Theological Studies from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, and an M.Ed. in Teaching and California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, California.
